• BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle

When I think of fighting games, I think of semi-complex motions, perfect timing, and a strong focus on competition. It’s you vs me in a battle to the death…or knock out. It’s a battle of wits and skill. In many fighting games, a good deal of skill is dedicated to being able to perform the previously mentioned semi-complex motions with perfect timing. In BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle (BBCTB), things are slightly different. Fighting games have always struggled to hit the mainstream market in a meaningful way. Sure, most casual gamers know who Chun-Li, Kazuya, and Scorpion are, but most of you don’t really identify with Cerebella, Iori, or Sol Badguy.…

  • BlazBlue: Central Fiction

As the fourth entry in the Blazblue series, Central Fiction grants access to over thirty playable characters, several modes with upgraded features, and a story section that brings a grand conclusion to its very intricate plot. This iteration of Blazblue is unlike the rest, in perhaps, a good way for most, and represents a fantastic arcade fighting game experience. Blazblue Calamity Trigger was released in 2010, by Arc System Works, as a Japanese arcade game under the fighting game genre. It featured 12 characters in a brand new system. With the console release, several various modes were barebones at best, with the story mode being the most fleshed out, featuring…

  • BlazBlue Chrono Phantasma Extend

BlazBlue is one of my favorite 2D fighting game series. I never really clicked with Guilty Gear, but BlazBlue and the characters in it just seem to sync with me. I have always liked the convoluted time-warping story and most of the English voice actors. I know, I know! I’m horrible for liking English voices, but if you’re not a fan, you’re in luck as all the Japanese voices are here as well. Oddly convenient, BBCPEx is split into two files. The main fighting game is a 3.35gb file while the story and library mode comes in a 2gb file for a total of 5.3gb. For a digital user, this…

My list of games to review keeps growing, but when it comes to Vita reviews, I’m kind of solo here. Jason is working on Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX and from what he tells me, it’s a real charmer. As for me, I’m playing way too many anime games. If you’re a fan of Japanese oddities, the Vita, like the PSP, really is a great system. I’m currently playing two separate games of Amnesia: Memories (One on Vita and one on Steam) because depending on the world you choose, the game’s story is VERY different. It really does warrant 4 separate plays, but I’m only doing the two for the…

For the first time in forever, I managed to have a review done and ready on release day! I’m feeling quite accomplished in that fact. It helps that I had plenty of time with the game before it’s release, but even more that the game was good. I’m talking about you, Lost Dimension. Well, for every good, there is a bad. Considering I spent so much time with Lost Dimension, I was unable to get my BlazBlue review up on time. That’s not necessarily a bad thing though. The game, oddly enough, is devoid of the story mode. I thought it was quite odd and was going to mark it…

So, I’m sitting on this review for Lost Dimension, but I can’t release it for another week or so. While looking through my old emails, I realized that I never released (or finalized) my Senran Kagura review. I was also sent Senran Kagura Bon Appetite, but I was never able to get into it. For that, I apologize. I will post my Senran Kagura review very soon. Again, I’m sorry for taking so long. So, aside from boning up on Senran Kagura (pun intended), what am I playing? Well, for one, I’m replaying Lost Dimension because I want to see how different it plays a second time through. Well, Rollers…

I just got back from an all night LAN at GameOn LAN. I’m a PC gamer, but not really a LAN gamer. The owner, Josh, let’s our fighting game crew piggy back on the PC LAN parties for a much cheaper fee since we bring our own setups and gear and it’s just money he wouldn’t be making if we weren’t there. Anyway, always a blast going to these things, and I just wanted to send a shout out to Josh and the crew at GameOn for supporting us the way he has. If you find yourself in the Buffalo, NY area, I highly recommend hitting this place up. Here’s…

So…Soul Sacrifice Delta is a thing. It’s been consuming my soul like a top sorcerer of Avalon. I was extremely apprehensive about this game as I found much of the original flawed. If you completed the first game and were worried about lack of content, fear not. Not only did they add the Grim faction to cover the neutral path, but they’ve actually added some content to the original Avalon story and added complete story paths for both Grim and Sanctuary. I’m going to cut it off there before I go into full review mode. Needless to say it’s going to have a pretty positive review, so if you’re on…
