• Now Playing #4

At this time of year, we’re all running kind of low on funds. I am no different, and last Friday I found myself in a tight money situation. Do I buy the new Legend of Zelda or do I get Tearaway? Zelda is the easy choice. You know what to expect, and you know it’s going to be a solid game. Tearaway, on the other hand, is something new. You know that Media Molecule makes charming games, but does this game have what it takes to become a classic? I had some credit on PSN from when I got my Playstation 4, so I decided to take a risk and…

This past week has been quite eventful. In regards to the photo above, our local Play N Trade had an overnight LAN party, but the neighboring restaurant, Ying’s was hosting a party of there own. Things escalated early and shots were fired. Someone got shot in the leg and the shooter escaped, but most of the college students and suburb dwellers were scared out of their minds. The few city residents that attended the LAN hit the floor after the first shot and instructed the others to get down as well. Nobody at the LAN was hurt, but a stray bullet hit the window next door.

Another random image I found online. To the creator go all the credits, but once again, I know not who is responsible. A sleight update to my last post, I played Pokémon with my Vita headphones instead of my old iPhone headset and I couldn’t notice the vibration at the high pitch. I also noticed that maybe 1/4 of the game’s music is new and not just chiptunes like I originally stated. Still, on both my Pikachu 3DS XL and my girlfriend’s Blue 3DS XL, the speakers do vibrate as mentioned. I also noticed that the small 3DS doesn’t have this issue, but it’s volume is lower. I believe it’s…

  • Now Playing #1

In my last post, I said I would start to post little bits about what I’m playing right now. I think I also mentioned that I’ve been going hard in Pokémon. It’s a great game; the best in the series, actually. Still, from the start, I have been finding things that really upset me with the game. The number one offense is the sound. Even with my speakers turned down low or while using earphones, the chiptune win music makes my speakers or earphones rattle. I don’t like that sound as I usually associate it with bad speakers, but I know my earphones are good. It just sounds bad. I…

Since this is a blog and I’m only one guy (with the help of one rather astounding lexicomane), I’ve been having a hard time keeping up with a solid stream of reviews. I still plan to use the same format that I’ve been using for the reviews. I’ve been caught up in the Pokémon craze these past few weeks, but I’ve been taking it slow, enjoying it as I go though it. As I’ve was going through it, I considered posting opinion pieces about things I was coming across in the game. Since I hadn’t established a norm for doing so, I felt it would feel out of place. That…

  • Etrain Odyssey Untold: The Millenium Girl

So there’s this new game out called Etrain Odyssey Untold: The Millenium Girl. Maybe it’s not that new as it’s a remake of a game that came out on the original DS only a few years back, but I never played that game. In fact, the last first person dungeon crawler I played was Mazes of Fate for the Game Boy Advance. I enjoyed that game a great deal, so I was hoping for something similar with Millenium Girl.

  • Dragon’s Crown To Get Cross-Play

I got an email today with very little more than this image and a small description stating that this is happening very soon. I know a bunch of people who had hoped this was included from the start. Good to see that it’s happening. Better late than never, I suppose.

  • Soul Sacrifice Final Update Is Live

Soul Sacrifice version 1.30 was released in the States today and includes 16 new challenges. You must update from the game’s Live Area. Once you do, you can access the new content from within Librom’s Forgotten Pacts pages. The two new pacts are called the Hour of Blackness and The Hour of Pure White. All quests are 10* difficulty and should give the diehards a good challenge before Delta comes out.
