  • Ys: Memories Of Celceta

I originally said I was going to play through both Valhalla Knights 3 and Ys:MoC, reporting on which was the better game, but Ys blew me away so much that I have literally not played a bit of VK3 since delving into this game. It’s fantastic! If you’re on the fence about picking it up, skip this review and just go buy it. I think you’ll have no regrets in your purchase…unless if goes on sale for %50 off the next day. It’s hard to say exactly what it is that I enjoy the most about it. I would like to think that it’s just so well crafted with each…

  • Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc

How does one review a game like this? To tell you the truth, I’m really not sure. I’m limited in what I can say because so much of the game relies on the player not knowing exactly what’s going on. It’s not exactly the type of game most people will play through multiple times unless you’re the type that watches anime seasons multiple times. You see, at it’s heart, Danganronpa is a Visual Novel with real-time exploration and investigation and courtroom battles similar to those found in the Ace Attorney games. At the request of the publisher, I will not discuss anything beyond the first chapter, but I will try to…

  • Now Playing #9

It has been over a month since I last updated the blog, and I am very sorry for that. Between work, visiting my mother, and attending my weekly fighting game meet ups (which, admittedly have a priority in my life), I’ve had very little time to update the site. I have a couple finished reviews that I will be posting over the next week or so. That’s it for the blah blah update. Onto the games! In the last month, my portable gaming has taken a bit of a hiatus, but I have been playing Danganronpa enough to review it, and I downloaded and played both demos of Conception II…

  • OlliOlli

If you were a gamer in the Playstation One era, chances are that you played at least one skateboarding game. Most people fell into the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater faction, but a lot of real skaters found themselves enjoying Thrasher: Skate and Destroy. Even if you didn’t play in in Pro mode, the game had a certain level of authenticity to it that catered to those who knew the mechanics of tricks. If you did play it on Pro, a whole new level of skill was needed; you had to press the square button at the right time in order to land your tricks. Of course, a lot of why…

  • Rainbow Moon

Have you ever played a game where every part of the game screamed low budget and cheap, but despite that it was a load of fun? Rainbow Moon fits that bill for me. If you break it down to individual parts, nothing about it should be enjoyable in any way. Put together, it’s an addictive and fun adventure with a battle system that takes some time to get accustomed to.

  • Merry Christmas!

Well, it’s Christmas day. Time to open those presents and see what you got. For those of you who managed to land yourself a 3DS or a Vita, 2014 looks to be a very good year. Pokémon Bank is right around the corner, releasing on December 27th. Finally, we can use our old world pork monsters in magnificent 3D. Bravely Default comes out this February as does a new Prof. Layton game. On the Vita, there looks to be a Dragon Ball Z fighter coming out in January. Danganronpa also looks interesting and I should have a review for this one sometime down the line. Along with it comes Toukiden…

  • Tearaway

Not since Journey has a game’s ending pulled on my heartstrings like Tearaway did. I can’t go deep into detail without spoiling it, but the ending is well worth finishing Iota’s short, but epic adventure. Like Journey, our hero doesn’t speak, but he is very expressive. After a short introduction, you can begin to customize him (or her if you chose Atoi) to your liking with eyes, mouths, and other various things made out of construction paper cutouts you buy or make yourself.

  • Now Playing #4

At this time of year, we’re all running kind of low on funds. I am no different, and last Friday I found myself in a tight money situation. Do I buy the new Legend of Zelda or do I get Tearaway? Zelda is the easy choice. You know what to expect, and you know it’s going to be a solid game. Tearaway, on the other hand, is something new. You know that Media Molecule makes charming games, but does this game have what it takes to become a classic? I had some credit on PSN from when I got my Playstation 4, so I decided to take a risk and…

  • Now Playing #3

This past week has been quite eventful. In regards to the photo above, our local Play N Trade had an overnight LAN party, but the neighboring restaurant, Ying’s was hosting a party of there own. Things escalated early and shots were fired. Someone got shot in the leg and the shooter escaped, but most of the college students and suburb dwellers were scared out of their minds. The few city residents that attended the LAN hit the floor after the first shot and instructed the others to get down as well. Nobody at the LAN was hurt, but a stray bullet hit the window next door.

  • Now Playing #2

Another random image I found online. To the creator go all the credits, but once again, I know not who is responsible. A sleight update to my last post, I played Pokémon with my Vita headphones instead of my old iPhone headset and I couldn’t notice the vibration at the high pitch. I also noticed that maybe 1/4 of the game’s music is new and not just chiptunes like I originally stated. Still, on both my Pikachu 3DS XL and my girlfriend’s Blue 3DS XL, the speakers do vibrate as mentioned. I also noticed that the small 3DS doesn’t have this issue, but it’s volume is lower. I believe it’s…
